About Videospeichern

Videospeichern is a small, independent tool with one job: it turns a link to a public post into a file you can keep. The name is German for “save video”.

What it does

You paste the address of a public post from one of the supported platforms. Videospeichern reads the media attached to it and offers every version the platform published: videos as MP4 in each quality, the sound as MP3, photos in their original size and whole galleries as one ZIP file.

That is the whole product. There is no feed, no account and no second screen to get through before the file arrives.

What it deliberately does not do

Several things that would be easy to add are left out on purpose, because each one would make the tool worse or less trustworthy:

  • It does not store downloaded files, so there is no archive to leak and nothing to moderate.
  • It never signs in to a platform, so your accounts and passwords are never anywhere near this site — and private posts stay private.
  • It does not handle paid or copy-protected content.
  • It does not re-encode video, so it cannot quietly hand you a worse file than the original.

Who it is for

Journalists archiving a source before it disappears, researchers keeping a record of a public statement, creators saving their own uploads, and anyone who wants to watch a clip later without a connection.

It is built mobile-first, because that is where most posts are read, and kept light so it stays usable on a slow connection and an old phone.

Who is behind it

Videospeichern is run by the operator named below and on the imprint. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to any of the platforms it works with.

The guides on this site are written and kept up to date by the Videospeichern editorial team. They describe the product as it works today and are revised when it changes.

How it is paid for

Videospeichern is free to use and is financed by advertising from Google. Ads are shown only with the consent the law requires, never on the legal pages and never inside the download steps. The privacy policy explains the details.
